How Stock Academy handles your data

This policy describes the information we collect when you use the Stock Academy app, website, and contact form, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We update the page whenever practices change.

Information we collect

We only collect the information needed to run the investing simulator and answer support questions:

  • Account details such as your name, email address, password hash, and optional classroom you join.
  • Guest identifiers (random UUIDs) that let you keep playing before you register.
  • Portfolio & gameplay data including virtual holdings, transactions, leaderboard stats, and portfolio snapshots so you can resume progress.
  • Device & diagnostics like refresh tokens, login timestamps, and error logs strictly for security and reliability.
  • Contact form submissions which include the details you type plus IP address and user-agent to prevent spam.

How we use the data

  • Provide, personalize, and secure the Stock Academy experience.
  • Sync your simulated portfolio, classroom leaderboard standings, and progress across devices.
  • Respond to support requests or classroom pilot inquiries.
  • Detect fraud or abuse (for example, repeated failed logins or spam messages).
  • Meet any legal or compliance requirements that apply to the service.

We do not sell your data, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

When we share information

We only share data with service providers that help us operate Stock Academy (for example email delivery or cloud hosting). These partners are contractually required to protect your information and may not use it for their own marketing. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or users.

Your choices

  • Manage your data: You can delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us. Contact us if you want a copy or deletion of stored data.
  • Opt out of communications: We only email you in response to requests or important account notices.
  • Device controls: You can block cookies or clear app storage through your device settings, although this may sign you out or remove guest progress.

Data retention & security

We keep account and gameplay information for as long as your account remains active so you can come back to the simulator. Contact messages are retained long enough to close the request, and password reset codes expire automatically. We use encryption, access controls, and regular monitoring to safeguard stored data.
